With Balto's legendary status as a sled dog, he becomes involved in the adventure, but this time, it’s not about running through the snow. Instead, the town looks toward aviation as the future. The plot follows Balto’s son, Kodi, who dreams of becoming a sled dog like his father but struggles to live up to the high expectations set by Balto’s heroic past. Kodi works as a messenger for the local post office, but he often feels overlooked and underappreciated. Meanwhile, the town’s decision to use planes for deliveries instead of sled teams causes tension between the old ways and the new, modern approach. Kodi, with the help of his friends, must overcome his doubts and show that there is still a place for sled dogs in the changing world. When a plane is in danger during a delivery, it is Kodi who steps up, proving that traditional methods and teamwork can still triumph. In the end, Kodi gains confidence and is recognized as a hero in his own right, while Balto sees his son follow his footsteps in his own way. With a production budget of $15 million, Balto III: Wings of Change didn’t have the same commercial success as its predecessors, grossing $6 million worldwide. However, it remains a beloved sequel, particularly appreciated by fans of the original films.
