It: Welcome to Derry will premiere on HBO and Max on October 26, 2025. Bill Skarsgård will reprise his role of Pennywise in the prequel series. The series is a prequel to the 2017 and 2019 It films and is set in the early 1960s, before the events of the first film. It is based on Stephen King's 1986 novel and will incorporate material related to Mike Hanlon's research into the history of Derry. The first season will consist of nine episodes. Andy Muschietti, who directed the recent It films, will direct several episodes and be an executive co-producer. In addition to Bill Skarsgård, the cast includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk and James Remar.
